Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo who is famous by his stage name “D’banj” is a businessman, song writer, singer and harmonica player. He is one of the most popular Nigerian singers and has won various awards for his mind blowing songs. He is famous all over the world because of his hit song “Oliver Twist”. “Oliver Twist” quickly climbed the UK single charts and gained position in the top ten songs of 2012.
D’banj was born to military officer in Zaria, Kaduna State. Because of his father’s profession he has to move several times in Nigeria but at last he moved to England. Earlier he has to pursue same profession as his father and because of this he was enrolled in the Nigerian Military School at the tender age of eleven. But after three years he dis-enrolled himself from Nigerian Military School. After getting out from there he was admitted in the Nigerian Navy Secondary School which was a military owned school, from this very school he completed his school education.
D’banj older brother Femi Oyebanjo introduced him to harmonica. His brother late Femi Oyebanjo died in a plane crash. As his parents were adamant that D’banj should pursue military as his carrier option because of which D’banj has to struggle a lot in order to get their approval for this. This struggle has been depicted in the song “All Da Way” which is one of the songs from his debut album.
His struggle for becoming a singer was also not easy. As for getting to the position where he is now he has to do several other things. He worked as Security Guard during the struggle period. D’banj uses a fusion of different genres to make his music. D’banj songs have both the meaning as well as humour. The songs are generally taken and written based on his life only though the songs are humorous but they also have deeper meaning. Normally his songs document the struggle and the difficulties of a singer which he faces in course of achieving his dream.
David Adedeji Adeleke is commonly known by his stage name Davido is a Nigerian record producer, recording artist and performer. His genre is Afropop. Davido was born in Atlanta, Nigeria on 21st November, 1992. His mother was a lecturer and his father is a business magnate. He was enrolled in the British International School, Lagos where he completed his schooling and after that Davido joined Oakwood University for studying Business Administration. After that he had to get relocated in Nigeria and is now studying at Babcock University, Ogun State.
The very first album of Davido was Omo Baba Olowa. The very first song of this album “Back When” was released on 7th may, 2011. This song gained good popularity in a very less time. The video of this very song was uploaded on YouTube on 9th may, 2011. He revealed this fact that this song was originally recorded in London only to Factory 78 TV.
